Spotlight and Character Interview of Unintended by Justine Alley Dowsett & Murandy Damodred

I’m really excited to host this blog tour and always like helping out other authors. So here is a spotlight and an exclusive character interview.

About Unintended:

Four people. Four very different lives. Four tales interwoven.

Meet Kenzie en Shareed, the High Clan Chief’s daughter who is sent south to fulfill a treaty by marriage only to marry the wrong man; Kadrean Authier, the Crown Prince who must come to terms with his new bride, even if he doesn’t much like the idea; Garron D’Arbonne, a noble Lord who has been commanded to marry a cool and aloof princess he doesn’t love; and Vivianne Chappelle, a young and ambitious woman who is in love with her abusive father’s manservant and must find a way to avoid having her entire future decided for her.

Fate and wills collide in this Shakespearian-style romantic comedy about good intentions and their unintentional consequences.

Murandy Damodred (left) & Justine Alley Dowsett (right):

With a background in Drama and Communications from the University of Windsor, Murandy Damodred (left) enjoys fantasy fiction with strong romantic subplots. She is an avid roleplayer and is happiest when living vicariously through her characters. Though she’d rather think of herself as the heroine of her next novel, in the real world she is an expert in sales and management living in Windsor, Ontario.

From obtaining a BA in Drama at the University of Windsor to becoming an entrepreneur in video game production and later, publishing, Justine Alley Dowsett’s unswerving ambition has always led her to pursue her dreams. Today she lives in Windsor, Ontario and is still writing and publishing fiction novels. When not focusing on growing her business, she enjoys role-playing with friends and developing new ideas to write about.

Character Interview for Kenzie:

What is your name?

MacKenzie en Shareed,  but my friends and family call me Kenzie.

Where are you from?

Haldoram, the country to the North of Ismera. We are a nomadic type of people. We camp outside in the summer months, harvesting and getting prepared for winter. In the winter we all travel further North to say at the Haldoram Keep. It gets rather loud, but being the Clan Chief’s daughter, I get a bigger space to myself.

Who is your favorite person in the world and why?

I would have to say it is my father. He is the Clan Chief of all of our people. He’s funny, loving and he also is very fair. He values honesty above everything else in the world. I lost my mom when I was really young, so it has always been just my dad and my brother Kolton, my other favorite person in the world.

What’s your biggest wish?

I know it will sound silly, but peace between the countries. I just want everyone to get along, with no wars. I would like everyone to be happy with what they have and for everyone to get what they deserve, no more and no less.

Do you have a ‘special someone’?

Yes, my husband, Lord Garron D’Arbonne. He is a perfect fit for my people and he is kind and he loves me. He has blonde hair, blue eyes, and the perfect amount of muscle.

Was it ‘love at first sight’? How did you two meet?

Yes, it was. He was the perfect gentleman, every woman’s dream. He rode up on a white horse to greet me before anyone else in Ismera. I married him right, then and there. I did it for my people and to uphold the treaty! The only thing was, he wasn’t actually the Prince I was sent to Ismera for…

What’s your family like?

I consider all my clansmen and women to be a part of my family. That is a very large family and when they get together, especially in the winter months, it gets very loud and crowded. I love all of them though. The best thing about them is that when a decision is made by the clan chief it is considered law and nobody will speak negatively about it.

My close family is my father, whom I already told you about, and my brother Kolton. Kolton is very strong and wise. He has an amazing sense of humour as well. He cares about everyone around him, and accepts them all as his family. He will be an excellent Clan Chief once my father passes the title to him.

If you could change anything about your life, what would it be?

I wouldn’t change a thing about my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the paths that I have taken, but if I was forced, it would be so that people didn’t have to get hurt because of my bad choices. That is what I most regret.
