Amaranthine Chronicles Blog Tour Day 2: What Inspired My New Series Guest Post

Next up on the blog tour today is a guest post where I talk about what inspired my new urban fantasy series.

Check out the original post on Field of Bookish Dreams

I’ve always been fascinated by shape shifters and werewolves and shifter stories. I also really love wolves so I decided this series would have some kind of shapeshifter in it. I wanted it to be something completely different from my previous series.

After going through an old fantasy series I’d written a few years ago, I decided to change the storyline and set it in a more modern, urban setting. Once I had a proper outline and a good idea of who the characters were going to be. The storyline slowly unfolded. I knew I wanted it to be set in a make-believe city that was full of corruption and danger. After going to London and seeing Tower Bridge there I decided to set the series solely around one place. I wanted to show the corruption there and it was fun writing a about a band of outlaws who go around righting the wrongs.  But at the centre of the story is the romance between the two main characters who had previously been a loving relationship but had then torn apart and how they work to find their way back to each other.
