Today is the start of the A-Z blog challenge where I’ll be blogging every day except for Sundays about stuff to do with writing. Each day will be a different letter of the alphabet.

So let’s begin with the letter A.

A is for Author. I’ve always considered myself a writer but I’ve just finally published my first novel Denai Touch so dare I call myself an author now?

Then I wondered, what’s the difference between a writer and an author?

To be an author, the idea of your writing has to be your own and you have your work published. An author usually has specific skill set in a particular genre, but a writer’s skill is suited to the job required. You become an author when your book is published, but if your writing is never published, you remain a writer.
