It’s been a while since I wrote a book review so I thought it was time to write one. I don’t really write reviews much – not because I don’t read but because I never know what to write.
I’m on a nonfiction reading kick at the moment so I’m writing about one of books I’ve recently read.
Now I’ve a lot of books on writing and how to write a book over these that many of them start to sound the same after a while. But after meeting A J and hosting her a blog tour I was intrigued to read one of her books.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Although it doesn’t highlight every single aspect of being a writer and is aimed at beginners more than established writers it still offers some very good advice.
Alyssa tells you all about the things she wished she’d known when she’d first start – many of which I can relate to myself. All of the chapters were well written and well researched. One aspect I liked most was the chapter on mindset. I haven’t read many writing books that bother to mention author mindset and I think that is one very aspect for anyone thinking about becoming an author. She also offers realistic self publishing advice and facts which is ideal for anyone starting out.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who is just starting out on their writing journey or who is just starting to learn about the craft of writing.
